Hey guys, nice show. I always love when Rennie, Sam, Kaman, and Jon make guest appearances. Your responses to the suits were not unexpected given that you have given the DC reboot suit such high marks. I can’t say that I agree with the praise being heaped upon MOS. The boots, cape, and \S/ look good, time will tell about the rest. I would give it a 6.8 on a 10 point scale (about what I gave the Superman Returns suit). The good news is this one doesn’t look as odd as the SR suit and Cavill really sells it. Regarding the trunks, @#$%! Change is fine, tossing one of the 5 major design elements isn’t. Hope that doesn’t lump me in with the “Basement Dwelling” “Nit pickers”. Ultimately the film will hinge on the story and the performances of the actors. Hope they are better than this suit.

    Hey Mark,

As always thanks for listening! Mark you don’t have to worry. You don’t fall into the “basement dweller” category. To me, a “basement dweller” is someone who would prejudge a film or a comic book based off of one image or cover. These people would look at the possible lack of trunks or spit curl as their reason to not see the film at all. You on the other hand seem willing to judge the film on story and acting, as it should be.

Nice show guys. One of your best actually. I was enjoying the show even though I disagree somewhat with your ratings of the new suit. I, like Mark above, think they should think very hard before eliminating one of the 5 iconic elements of a character like Superman. I give the suit as we see it in the first picture a 7.5 or maybe even an 8 but that is based on an action shot not a snapshot like we got for Superman Returns (Hated it. Terrible movie.). That suit could have been saved with a little larger S shield and normal trunks instead of that speedo cod-piece.

My favorite Superman & Clark Kent is George Reeves. I prefer the trunks. I would like the curl ONLY if it looks natural like Cavell’s real hair. I prefer yellow S on cape.

I would rate this episode of World’s Best Podcast at an 8.5 or even a 9. For almost all of the show hosts and guests alike gave their opinion of the suit or reboot without cutting anyone else down until the dim-witted cellar dweller comment.

Sorry Isaac, people who disagree with you are not dim-witted cellar dwellers. Not many of the people who are upset about the changes have said they are going to boycot the movie or the comics. Most will see the movie at least once and most will try the new comics. It’s up to DC & WB to keep them.

One quick word about those who are really really upset. From what I can see they are not simply upset about the trunks or the curl or S or the jeans & t-shirt or any other single change coming. It is the combination of all these things thrown at them all at once and especially because the changes seem to be driven more by a lawsuit than creative decision. (another time and place for that discussion)

I am really looking forward to the movie and I’m not cancelling my subscriptions to Action or Superman comics. Hope I don’t sound like I’m complaining I really liked the show. :)

Regarding the split curl. I like it and would love to see it in MOS; but I have never seen it executed well in live action so…

Thanks for the comments everyone! And Bob let me be clear: We are mocking those that have said they won’t see the movie or will stop reading Superman. And we have read people say this many times! I don’t care if they don’t like something they are completely entitled to their opinion. And we’ve even said on the podcast if someone disagrees with changes, fine. If they hate the changes, fine. But where we draw the line is when they give up on something before even trying it out. I understand the discontent. What I don’t understand is when people give up on something without experiencing it. I just wanted to clarify so it doesn’t seem like we’re targeting all complainers, which we aren’t. Thanks for your comments!

WHile I disagree with those who say they will not see the movie or buy the comics before they are out I can understand some of them. Some will just yell to yell and gripe to gripe. Some, however, are just tired of DC. Let’s face it, over the past few years there have been some bright spots but for the most part the monthly titles of Superman &” Action have sucked. They didn’t even have Supes in them.

I think you & I agree I’m just saying some of the gripers have valid points and are just tired. If true Superman fans, and DC/WB deliver a good product, they’ll be back.

Thanks and again good job with the show.

Back in episode 46 I gave the costume a 10 out of 10. However, my initial excitement has diminished somewhat, hence, now I give the costume a 9 out of 10  The reason is that there is still much that is not known. Is there an “S” on the cape? Is he wearing red trunks (most likely the answer is no)? What are the true colors of the costume in normal lighting? Finally, the costume could change based on fan reaction. This was the case with the Wonder Woman pilot.

Hi guys, loved the podcast specially the group discussion just like the JLA…LOL! The question is now will he wear the glasses? Is everybody in favour of the classic horned rims or should he have more of a modern Bono look? LOL! Somebody get me a marker I’ve got to see how Cavill looks with specs! Thanks!

Excellent idea, Anabel! I like the horned rim glasses but I don’t really care.
